has that happened?
Yeah. I can think of one case in which that's happened. That would have to be the rivarly between myself and sonicam in SH and SB. Those were some real good times with the SH championship changing hands at least 7 times within a month. The SB rivarly occured in January of 2005 when I started playing SB before the year began, with me taking 1st place within about a week of playing. The battle in that game resumed in November of 2005.
Ever know what its like to get pwned by a book? Sonic certainly does.

I'd have called BS on me too, given that I didn't take part in the forum/chat and didn't give any proof until I had 2nd place from RPG :)  I have to say I think Taco's the better Adv2 player, and I think given the new strats we have he could be champ (certainly Times leader) - the fact that the best of the rest have tried and tried to beat his best times, and failed on many counts (only recently has LF1 been taken, and that literally required medical attention afterwards!).  Massive kudos to RPG, Quartz and Judgement too, all top quality players.

Slight qualm about the "iron fist" comment - I had the championship by 1 point from Taco when score/rings was added, and for a pretty short time (in fact, it's easily my proudest achievement to have taken Adv2 from him before the change).  I had ring/score stats from back when I started and thought they were worth something <_<  and that's what gave me silly points.

Anyhoo, given that my exams are here and I'm procrastinating furiously, I'll have the championship back soon enough :)

May I point out I came fairly close to calling this with my number 4? Because I was only a single player and two rankings off.

Also, we should attempt to guess what next year's 'Top 10' will be.

Top 10 Biggest Comebacks-The 10 users who made the most drastic turnarounds in skill.
Top 10 Best Nicks Ever Used by Mike and RPG-The 10 best nicks Mike and RPG have ever used.
Top 10 Spirit Awards-The 10 determined users who you want to do well because they never give up but invariably fail.
Top 10 Comments-The 10 best comments ever left on a record.
Top 10 Back and Forth Records-The 10 most fought over records.
Top 10 Breakthrough Moments-The 10 most significant findings in competition history.
Top 10 Worst Falls-The 10 worst losses of championships ever ever.
Top 10 Most Competitive Players-The 10 most competitive players. Rawk?
Top 10 Underrated Players-The 10 really awesome players everyone forgets about.
Top 10 Prolific Players-The 10 most consistantly noteworthy players who have submitted to just about everything.

There are exactly 10 ideas for a top 10 there. I'm bound to have hit at least one of their ideas.

I HOPE YOU DO

ie. someone who submitted a batch of awesome records and never came back. Think smtp on Sonic 2/3.

2) F-Man vs. Marth (Sonic Adventure)
There was a rivalry between Marth and I? Seriously, I frankly don't remember... I think I only competed with myself. What I do know is that Marth never got the championship. :P
Someone's got a big head and a bad memory. :P
I was about to take the championship, but then you dumped a bunch of new records in
(through all the categories) and took it right before I could.
Then, there was the rivalry with different stages. In... I think it was early 2006, I was
smashing a bunch of your records, and the top two rankings in a bunch of stages
shifted back and forth. Of course, you ended up taking a lot of them back in the end,
but I still have a couple of records you haven't been able to beat (not to mention the
stages where new players are the champs... it makes me feel like we're has-beens :( ).
So you can't say you honestly think that you were just trying to beat your own times
on all those stages, and that they had nothing to do with me. I can explain it in detail if I need to.

You're the overall champion now, and you own a lot of records, but you can't say I
haven't been able to compete with you. You'd just be fooling yourself and increasing
the size of your head and ego by saying that.

Also, I should win for "underrated player".    :(     :P

Oh, I'm not saying you weren't giving me inspiration to find shortcuts and improve. :)

But really I have no idea what I meant, I think I was just saying that championships were never thrown around, so should it count?

Bah.  There goes my chance.  The only other even remote rivalry (aside from the passive Advance 2 one where I wasn't trying to hold it) I had was against Egg in Riders, and that wasn't even noteworthy.  Still, interesting stuff to see.

Also, people guess the remaining 5.  Now.

You people suck at guessing. Also RPG sucks at organisation.

#5 is Rolk vs sonicam edit into earlier post ok

TSC's TITANIC TUSSLE #4
mike89 vs sonicam (Sonic Adventure (DX))

One that stands out in my memory in particular because we both hate the game :D

Take a look at my charts in particular now and you'll wonder how I was ever champion. The truth is it was before ring/score carried weight, and before F-Man and others actually cared. But regardless the action was intense.

sonicam became champion of SADX in November 2004 virtually unopposed, and then I turned my attention to the game over the summer (that's December, for you crazy northern hemisphere folk). I hadn't played for a week before taking the championship (a fact I recited many times much to sonicam's chagrin) and from then on it was game on... for eight months. We traded blows by the day and by the hour, until eventually it got to a point where neither of us cared enough for it anymore and both bowed out, with sonicam a slight leader.

CURRENT LEADER: Unusual in that the winner of the rivalry was actually RPG. He came out of nowhere much as I had in December, smashed my Twinkle Circuit times (and a lot of other times) and was a key player in driving me and sonicam out of the game.

TSC's TITANIC TUSSLE #3
mike89 vs eredani - Sonic and Knuckles

An even tougher, longer, more intense rivalry, lasting the whole of fourteen months and counting!

When eredani first came to TSC he was so good and gave so little proof I honestly believed he wasn't legitimate. Of course, I have since been proven wrong time and time again. Potentially TSC's very best player obliterated every record in his sights... and then eredani wiped through them all over again. >_>

What makes eredani's participation in this rivalry so amazing is that he was under attack on three fronts at many times in this rivalry, and was able to hold off all comers. Even more amazing was his ability to know what level I was playing, know what route I was taking, and beat the record before I even got to beat my PR at the time. And I'd be comfortably behind his time too.

There was a time in this rivalry where I took a bit of time away to concentrate on holding on to the championships of other games, though history shows I was unsuccessful in all of those ventures. Also during this rivalry was my HSC which severely limited my pwnage time. But now I feel as though the two of us have taken the game towards its limits, and feel comfortable in declaring eredani the winner.

CURRENT LEADER: eredani by unanimous decision. A couple of short, sharp bursts from me wasn't enough to hold him off, not by a long way.

ZOMG LATE

TSC's TITANIC TUSSLE #5
Rolken vs sonicam (Sonic Chaos, Sonic Triple Trouble and Sonic Pocket Adventure)

Ok Ill be honest. I really dont know a great deal about the extent of this rivalry, and as such dont have much to go on. That aside, I can remember numerous instances where these pair where at each others throats (On the charts, of course >_>) I only have vague recollections of their bouts in Sonic Chaos, but I can definatly remember their duels in Triple Trouble and Pocket Adventure (Which, by the way, is the greatest game ever created.)

Records would change hands by the update, literally, until one or the other could not match the other, or they tied. The Championship changed hands several times daily, they were often separated by single points on the overall rankings. Stastistically, I think Rolko is ahead of sonicam in STT, but I could be wrong, I havent looked at those charts in forever, although I do know that Rolk is well ahead in Chaos.

Now for SPA. Yea this game gets its own paragraph because of its sheer level of awesomeness. Rolk and sonicam enjoyed repeat shenanigans of STT with SPA, similar in the way that they were separated by a mere handful of points at times, with records being broken left, right and soniccenter (I really should never say that ever again...). A good example of such an instance would be Neo South Island 1, till like mike owned them both, and then Ninty and eredani raped the level even more. This went on for sometime, until Thorn came along and wrestled 2nd from sonicam, leaving rolk in first (I could be wrong with that.) Then mike and I came along and raped the game into oblivion (Particularly Aerobase <_<).

Current Leader: Being ahead in all 3 of the games, I am forced to declare Rolko the reigning victor here by a considerable margin. However this is not to belittle sonicams achievments, his times were, and still are in some cases, damn good back in the day.

EDIT: I know find out sonicam trounced Rolko in STT. As such, I am still declaring Rolken winner on a 2-1 basis, but that makes the call a Hell of a lot closer :O

TSC's TITANIC TUSSLE #2
RPG vs SS101 (SA2(B))

Where do I even start with this one? The molds for this rivalry to take place where set into motion before TSC was even born, and it even showed signs of occurring in the infamous Time Attack topic on the SA2BGB, and in the SA2B Challenge topics that appeared at regular intervals. What began as general friendly competition, turned into the second longest (hint) rivalry that the site has even seen, beginning shortly after the sites birth and finally drawing to a close several months ago when neither of us could be arsed anymore.

So lets take a look through some of the finer points shall we?

By the time I started competing at SA2B, the top 3 had been stable for quite a while:

Cybrax
SadisticMystic
Supersonic101

Now, I didn’t submit all my times at once because the majority of them were shitty, as such I submitted when and where I improved until my bracket was complete. This was back when we both little nubcakes who’d never have dreamt of obtaining the totals we do now. I passed SS, and then, much to my suprise, found myself ahead of SM, too, though still a good way behind cybrax. I didn’t have my sights set on first but I continued to TA away regardless. SS countered this by pulling out a bunch of good times, passing SM and rapidly catching up to myself. Now if memory serves we were both around 200 (That was a LOT back in the day) points behind. So we did the most logical thing we could; teamed up to try and take down cybrax. Unfortunatly this didn’t work exactly according to plan. As soon as wed take the time to painstakingly break one of his records, hed simply come back and beat us by a few seconds. After a while we gave up and ended up simply squabbling over second place, very slowly drawing nearer to cybrax however. This continued throughout ’04 until I eventually simmered down and tried elsewhere (Hi Advance 2). In this time, rayku and kev had both passed me, and yoshi was drawing near to SM who was some distance behind me. I left SA2B alone until the great downtime of ’05. And then the challenger appeared. Yea, that faggot we call mike89.

Seriously, if hed not came around and incited both me and SS into action with his "rar i am going to whoard stats and take the Championship" type talk Id never have had the championship beyond that one fleeting day sometime in '04 I forgot to mention till now.

By this point, I know cybrax was out of the game and third, and I -think- rayku was first with ss in second but yea this is my memory were relying on here X)

Over the downtime, the three of us TAed relentlessly, I have never smashed my own PRs to the extent I did in that month or so, smashing an entire 15 minutes (!) from my total, 179 minutes down to 164, mike got his down to 174 or so, and ss to 162. As such mike never really had a shot at the championship but hes had plenty more so nevermind.

SS once again overtook rayku, after a LOT of effort I crawled passed cybrax into third and it stayed this way for a good while, right until, in fact, the addition of scores and rings to the charts, which shunted me into first by a mere 9 points. From here, full scale war commenced, if you can call it that. SS would bother in a ring stat and drop 20 points. Id painstakingly claw them back. Repeat. It was only when I got my OWN Rings and Score stats to satisfactory levels (at the time) and SS couldnt be arsed that I got a decent lead of about 100 points. Overtime this was gradually reduced lower and lower to the miniscule gap it is today, as we both stopped playing and eventually were passed by yoshifan, zeph and stefan (Not necessarilly in that order). But who knows, you never know when something could spark up again out of old flames.

Current Leader: TIE. Yeah thats right, I am refusing to determine a winner here, its way too close to call, although it would most likely be SS if hed ever bothered with rings properly...

This aside, Id like to say SS is a fucking awesome rival, whenever I felt I couldnt get any better he convinced me otherwise and vice versa, it was an absolute pleasure duking it out with you over all this time dude, its just a shame great things have to come to an end I guess, this is almost certainly one the best times, and friendships Ive ever had and gained from TSC, and one I certainly wont be forgetting for a -very- long time
